The UMD SFPE student chapter is open to all engineering students at UMD! Dues are $28 per year. By becoming a member, students are invited to social events, professional events presented by companies in the fire protection community, and networking opportunities.
Membership also grants access to the SFPE lounge (JMP 3226), where students can relax between classes and complete school work. The lounge includes two leather couches, two study tables, a flat screen TV, and a whiteboard.
All students are also encouraged to become National SFPE members. Student membership is free and can be obtained by following the instructions on the SFPE Student Membership Website. Benefits include: access to the FPE Magazine and the Fire Technology Journal, connection and networking opportunities, real-time knowledge sharing via SFPE Connect Online, and discounts on publications and education programs.
How to Become a Member
Becoming a member of the SFPE UMD Chapter is a three-step process:
